Omy Maldonado is a lifelong Lehigh Valley resident, husband, father of three, volunteer youth coach, and United States Marine Corps veteran running for State Senate in Pennsylvania’s 14th Senatorial District, representing Lehigh and Northampton Counties.

Raised with strong values centered on family, faith, hard work, and service, Omy has built his life around giving back to the community he proudly calls home. He is married to his high school sweetheart of 16 years and together are raising their three children.

Omy honorably served eight years on active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps, including two overseas deployments. Even while serving, he remained committed to education—earning his undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina – Beaufort in 2017 and 2021 completing his MBA at St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. His military service instilled a deep sense of accountability, leadership, and responsibility to those he serves.

After returning home from service, Omy experienced the same challenges many working families face—briefly relying on unemployment benefits and state Medicaid while working to get back on his feet and provide for his family. That experience shaped his belief that families who work hard, play by the rules, and put their children first should not fall behind.

Today, Omy works as a technology consultant and volunteers his time by coaching youth football, basketball, and baseball. He is running for the Pennsylvania State Senate because families across the region are being squeezed by rising costs, taxes, and failing governmental policies.

Omy’s campaign is focused on affordability, responsible government, and accountability in Harrisburg—so working families can keep more of what they earn, build stable lives,  and ensure the Lehigh Valley remains a place where the next generation can afford to live, work, and raise their own families.
